Title: COKE OVEN RUN
Post by: WFO on October 01, 2017, 11:22:43 AM: Whipper says 24 miles in and out. not too bad. lots of ledges and steps. its been 12 to 15 years since we have been their. the COKE OVENS were used to burn mesquite wood to a coke for the processing of gold and silver.

I read that it is on 189 acres of private property. I know you wouldn't trespass. whistling Apparently it has been posted but people keep removing the signs and some think they have to take pieces home with them or vandalize it in some way. Idiots like that ruin it for everyone. Hope you guys had a good time on your adventure.

Probably because it was the center wheel, not carrying much of a load with all 6 on the ground. Those tires are pretty tough also.

See if you can figure out which rock I hit, on the Driver side.
It was a good enough hit to bend the top trailing arm, which made the wheel
point to the outside. WFO took care of that. banana banana banana banana

We put the bent wheel in the middle and went on to the Coke Ovens.

Was the side-by-side guy riding with you or just a good Samaritan?

I made it there & back on 5 wheels. ;D We took a different trail when we left the Coke Ovens. Post by: WFO on February 01, 2018, 06:29:26 PM: who was it. very easy to get lost with all those spur roads. my first time out their in 98" I was 2 miles east of the ovens and had a hell of a time finding the beaten path again. ended up driver down the R/R tracks for awhile. but I did have plenty of Coronas.
