Rarely does the T20 make any odd noises and still operate. If the main chains off the transmission are to tight the shift collars bind real bad. Turning noises are usually external. Chains , mount bolts on transmission ect.

Your shifting issue could be several things.  Shift linkages could be bent or worn.  Diamond shifter pins could be worn.  There could be something stuck in the shifting mechanism causing it to bind.  Remember you may have to do the Max/T-20 shimmy shake and/or pulling the sticks back and forth to get it to shift.  It doesn't take much to cause them to start shifting harder.

Check all the chains.  A loose chain can jump teeth or slap the bottom.  Adjust or replace as necessary.

T20-hard shifting, noise.

My Max has developed a problem with the T20.  It is extremely hard to shift from forward to reverse and it also has a banging noise when trying to turn to the right.  Is it possibly the bands or something else?  Thanks in advance.
