I've been working on converting an Attex to an approximately 2/5ths scale Sherman tank. I started the project in June.
I've been sharing pictures of my progress with Whip and JBF. I will probably not post anything on here until generation one is complete. I hope to have Gen. 1 online for a local Memorial Day parade.
Generation 2 will be modifying the turret and installing a pneumatic tennis ball/confetti cannon.

Yes Whipper We KNOW you live in the SUNNY Side of life >:D

There is a Guy in York who has a machine started like that. I also have seen them on U-tube. Look up Paint ball tanks.

THANK YOU! My favorite tank video. And a pic of you & Little George to boot. Ya, you've been into this a LONG time. :)

I like how you made that 6x6 a remote control !
Is this hard to do as I have a bunch that I could do that to .
-
Thanks Wedge.
That 6x6 was being pulled by the RC tank and the RC halftrack. It was attached to each with some fishing line.
One day, maybe...if I ever don't have a project to work on...I'll try building an RC 6x6.

I've been working on my two sets of Runamuks lately. One set on Gizmo and another set on Gadget. Giz had 4 that held air well and 2 that would bleed down within about an hour of being filled. I have a HF bead breaker that works very well. The HF small wheel/tire machine also works quite well peeling off/installing the tires we use. I got some NAPA bead sealing spooge and applied it to the beads of these two tires the other day. One is holding air nice now, the other is still bleeding down slowly (days as opposed to hours) so I need to re-check if it's the bead or if this one is leaking somewhere else that has not become apparent as of yet. I'm only having issues with one of Gadgets tires so that will be next. Then I need to tackle the Argos Goodyear Rawhide III's. I'm thinkin' that the beads are going to be in such bad shape on those that I will be fortunate if i can salvage them and get 6 with the "inner" bead in good shape to seal up on the wheel and may need to make bead locks for the outer beads. A lot of work but, as far as I can see, there is no inexpensive or easy way around this situation.

I've been working on some new front brake drums for an early 70's Max II.
The early Max Ii had #40 chain. I machined up some new drums and new sprockets that
are splined to fit the new splined axles I made.
The new sprockets are #50 chain.
I made a fixture to fit inside of the drum to keep it centered with the internal spline,
so it will run true after welding.
Then will put it on a splined axle and turn the OD of the drum so it will be true to the 6-spline.
-
Nice work as always Whipper ! You planning on doing upgrade axles for the max ?
Would be a Nice package to sell !!

Morning Wedge
working on a CASA 212.... well it is my actual work, at home next week time to get the mowers and Vette ready for the spring/summer, and of course try to get the new muffler installed on the Max
-
Well it’s -9 this morning and about 3 feet of snow. That’s winter project time. Just finished the rotating assembly of a 22 caliber Gatling gun. Project I started 15 years ago. I have almost a month in the bolts, firing pins and extractors. Maybe see it work this summer. Can’t get any pics to load today :-\
-
That is awesome, I found a online kit a while back for a Gatling 22 using 2 ruger 10/22 rifles, looked pretty well made. tacticalinc.com is the website. I am very much looking forward to seeing the pics... sorry to hear about the temps and snow. brrr

Tomorrow I am hoisting the engine and frame out of my Max! I already pulled the axles and cleaned them up with a wire brush grinder. Used a press to get the old bearings off. One bearing was so stuck it took 10 tons of pressure to loosen it. :o I figured since the axles are out, and the machine is new to me, it’s a good time to take out the frame and repaint it. I got por15 to paint it. Plastidip for my rims, grill paint for the muffler, and undercarriage paint for the axles. Plus that will allow me to rinse out the tub of all the crap in it since 1997. I’m also finishing up putting gutter guard mesh around the vents. This machine will look brand new after this weekend! I’ll keep y’all posted with pics of the project! dance banana popcorn popcorn popcorn

I just finished wiring up the turret to the Sherman tank I'm building out of a spare Attex..
I started building it last August. I've been taking pictures and video of the build. I'll post everything after the tank is finished. I need it ready for Memorial Day so it'll be 8 weeks at the most.
