I believe one chain from the transmission runs both back and center axels and the chain goes around an idler/tensioner sprocket.  It's a long chain.  There is a chain that goes from center axel to the front axel.

That is what I thought . But how is the 4 chain set up then ?

six chain is like the max IV, front chain to center, center chain to rear and rear to skid.

Ok And Pardon me on this as I am Not a Big Attex man as you are .
What is a 6 chain model ? Jack shaft ?
Also what unit ran the T20 > As Attex did use there odd type of tranny ?

Any 4-chain setup is pretty good. Poly body (all are 4-chain unless it was an old machine transplant) are, in my opinion, the best Attexes. The poly bodies were used from '76 till the factory closed in the early 80s.

Superchief
Lil Truck (with a G50B or OH160)
Tomahawk (OH160)
and Spirit (G25A) were the available models that were 4-chain and poly bodies from the factory.

With all the different attex's made what is the most popular model ? And the one to steer away form ?
Have a chance to pic a rollor up for a good price but want to see if I should even bother with it ?
