when i used the factory tracks from R.I. I would take out the center wheels and deflate the front and rears then roll the track on.
air them up and install the center wheel 8)

I have a 1983 Argo HT 8X8.
New to me.
Came with plastic tracks but they seem awfully close to the tub.
In fact on the left hand side they have rubbed through.
I noticed that there is a metal plate that joins the track together.
Is this to lengthen the track? Machine is currently using 22×8x10 runamuks.
Are the tires to large and this is why the metal plate was installed?

Thanks

Track installation is pretty simple on a MAX IV

Install flat ( valve stems removed) tires and wheel extensions on machine. ,use use 21" Rawhide style tires on 8x8 BL rims.
Lay out 31 links pined together in front of machine
Roll machine to center of tracks, thread track up and pin first and last links together on top middle of tires.

May have to compress tires a bit to install pin

Inflate tires just enough to prevent tires from spinning inside tracks

Will have to play with pressures as less is best

Mpalmer: Just bought traxs from Richard for my 6x6 max4. Had to put smaller tires on they are 21x11-8goodyear rawhide tires. Tried to install traxs today but can't figure out how to pull them together, no instructions, no videos.got them the best I could about 3 1/2" space left to close them. Any idea what is wrong?thanks M
