Splice pieces are Flexco #140. To drill rubber track use a hole punch in a drill with WD-40 for lube. Makes neat clean holes in the rubber belt. It would be nice to have the drive tool Flexco sells but I made mine out of old deep socket and grinder. You can text me at 907-388-8582 if you want some pics. Can’t get them to post today from phone.

Factory tracks are made from camoplast snow mobile  tracks and have two splices. I’ll get the manufacturer and part number for splice pieces. They are available from any rubber belting supply house.

the old style tracks were tied together with a barbed cleat that fit into each half, are those the type you can get because thats an easy one to modify

My tracks on my 4 are rubber so I’d like to stay with the same kind. I can get tracks for the 4 all day but I’m scared that stitching them together might compromise the track.  I’m usually 1/2 mile or more from good solid ground so I’m scared.

If you come on a set of tracks that fit a 4 they can be shortened. Just get splice plates and take out 16”. For body clearance I would stay with the waffle face ones. The later ones with lugs will hit the tub pretty easily.  The tracks on my II were from a 4 and had been added into at the factory. I just removed the one piece and installed a pin splice. Makes installation a lot easier.
