So today it ran good for a while then died. I pulled the line off the carb and ran the fuel pump. Had minimal flow. Replaced the pump and lots better flow. Also let Gas free flow out the lines up to the pump and good flow. These intermittent problems are the hardest to find. Usually a pump works or it doesn’t right? Maybe this one was just getting week?

sounds like a plugged up carb. may have to take it out and clean it with cleaner and compressed air. may have to change all the rubber fuel lines also
iagree

I had my 18hp Vanguard act that way and my jet was plugged with a grain of dirt, and that was after I cleaned the carb, now I run 2 filters..my money is on a plugged primary/secondary jet

No it wouldn’t idle. Full throttle and full choke was the only way i was able to limp it back. Almost like a plugged fuel line.

Seeking help with fuel problem

I’ve got a Max IV with 27hp Kawasaki. It quit on me but was able to run it home on full choke but not very good. First I checked the fuel pump to the carb and had flow. Then changed the metal fuel filter with the old plastic one and it ran good. I’m not sold this was the problem since I could blow through the metal filter easily. I also checked the inline shut off valve and had good flow out of it. Anyone have any ideas or maybe even run into this before?
