It is a Briggs and Stratton 14 hp. twin clylinder ohv . When i bought it you had to run it with the choke pulled half way out. Couldnt never get it to straighten out by cleaning it so i bought a brand new one yea it was $245 dollars . i dont run as good now as it did before. This carb. does not have any adjustments on it.The mechanic also checked the compression it was great he checked the valves and they werent out of adjustment. The coils do not seem to get hot .We put new fuel lines from tank to carb.and changed ALL filters.Muffler is not clogged up.Fuel cap not stopped up.Freash gas has been put in it so i am at a stand still any help will be appreciated.

There are multiple jets on these carbs. Make sure they’re ALL clean. I have to do mine every few months during the summertime

it is a brand new carb.

it needs to have some kind of adjustment, are their little small metal caps over where their should be an adjustment? if so it could be their is an adjustment under it

there is absolutely no adjustments on this carb.

How is the gasket? Do you have any air leaks? Post some pictures of the carb and a video or two of the machine running (if you can) so we can see and hear what is going on. Sometimes that can help us help you figure out what is going on.

these are the only pics i have and this is the old carb. but the new one is just like it except it does NOT have any adjustments on it.
-
What carb number did you replace it with?
Did you mess with governor adjustment?
-
Check the manifold gaskets at the heads. Had a similar problem on an opposed 18 Briggs. the gasket at one head was leaking.
-
re adjusted the valves still did not help it gonna try some non ethanol gas in it if that doesnt help it then i dont know everything has been done to it that i can think of. should have been a easy fix but this has turned into a nightmare
-
Ok your issue was it wouldnt run off of choke.
That points to the EMALSA TUBE. Its the long small one with all the holes around it. 90% of the time that is Dirty and plugged.
Your saying the New carb has No adjustments ? I have Never seen one with out some sort as that is where thay put the Ports in it. Now I have seen some that have plugs sealed over them.
Lets step back and punt here kik
1, Runn it with out the gas cap on. 2, pull the fuel line off the fuel pump ( pump to carb) and crank it over .( put a longer hose on the pump into a jug) Check flow. 3, I have seen this in the shop stp Check and make sure the fuel line DIDN'T get pinched between the upper and lower body. 4, Check you oil level and condition. It should be 10w-30 or better. And 2qrts or less.
This all is for a LEAN FUEL condition. NOT Weak spark.
Hope this helps and if you need you can PM me and i will give you my # so you can talk to me. twoCents
