Snap idle tensioners
« Reply #1 on: June 27, 2020, 06:27:40 AM »
What kind of luck have any of you using these had with them?  The factory hustler chain tensioners seemed kind of crappy and are missing parts so I removed them to either design my own or run snap idle. The only issue I see is the square tube cross braces might stop them from moving forward or rearward when changing direction. Or is the movement minimal and they stay pretty much where you put them when they're adjusted? How about modifying the design by replacing the side straps with eye bolts and stiff springs to keep constant tension and absorb shock when changing direction, steering etc?
