Got ya. And see there is No one around me that runs these as much as I do. I am in Lower PA near the PA/MD line.
That's why all these races are hard for me as there so far to get to.
We have a Dirt track rite down the road from my house . If you look at the image of where I am in my profile you can see it. Thy race Everything there and I know the owners Very Well ! won 4 championships there in my day  ;D
Plus a Dirt bike park up the road. I think I may try and talk to these guys and see if we could ether get track time or rent the track and put on our own deal ?

I live on Long Island. JBF and I meet up just east of Binghamton. From there we're 5 hours from Ashtabula, 1 hour from Hamlin and about 2.5 hours from the Paradise Speedway (which will hopefully be a better event next spring).

I have a place to crash so at so that easts up some of the expense of a long weekend. It also allows us to break up some of the long hauls from home to the track.

Where you two at ? I see New Jersey but you guys never Pin'd your self on the map so I can't see where you are compared to myself ?
The thought of a Team splitting travel and so on is a very good idea but members would need to be somewhat close to each other also.
I was thinking of trying a Stock build but need to hammer out the details on engine and so on. As soon as I get that info I may move forward on this. I will have a machine to use next week.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a big interest in 6x6's.  We are a novelty item and a curiosity to the non 6x6ers.  It will be tough to really increase the interest and participation, especially with no manufacturers of race machines and only one 6x6 manufacturer at this time.  Without new blood in the sport it will become a thing of the past that only lives on in videos.  I'm glad we, as a 6x6 community, have a get together twice a year at Pine Lake that we can trail ride and race with like minded friends.  There is also Busco Beach trail riding down south for our southern friends.  I guess the friends out west play in the desert and sand dunes.

I agree. I don't think we'll ever see the showings of the 70s again. Even now, we get a few new guys every year but then a few quit too.

Hopefully we can get some young blood in (like Don's boys). My son enjoys the 6 wheelers but he does not have the same passion for them like I have.

We currently run 5 events in the series.
1. A class
2. four stroke
3. 2 stroke stock
4. modified
5. springer class
I'm a 2 stroke (guy) but that being said i'm open to
anything to help renew and grow the sport.
Needs to be fair but if combining 2 and 4 stroke helps.  (i'm in)
The three and four wheelers racers are going threw the same thing.(not including SxS's)
Just like us with no manufacture's making anything new or high-
performance we need to open more options.
Look at motocross they mostly all changed over from 2 too 4 stroke (i hate the sound but they are as fast)

In the early 70's A stock class was STOCK.
That meant that the machine could not be modified in any way,
other then seat belts and a 3 point roll cage.
It had to be just the way you bought the machine from the factory.
No carb modifications or exhaust we're allowed.
Most atv's in this class we're single cylinder engines. JLO 295's & 297.
Terra Tiger also came stock with the JLO 297.
It was a popular class because you didn't have to spend a lot of money.
Just buy one and race it.
That's how I got started.
I don't think there are very many real stock machines around any more.
Maybe it's time for some real rule changes.
Make it easier and affordable and maybe more people will show up to race.
It has to be fair.
You can't have someone with a real Stock machine race the same class with someone
who has a 22hp V-twin with dual carbs and custom headers.
They should have a special weed eater class. hilarious hilarious hilarious
Just thought I'd give you all something to talk about.

I remember 2 and sometimes 3 heat races to narrow the field down from 30-40 entries.
Watch some of my old video's, it would be nice to see that kind of turnout again.

Wedge, it will take a lot of time and money to build a racer.  :o

I believe the A Stock class was re-introduced to help rectify this.   banana

500 cc is only 15.38 HP . So a Very small V Twin would be needed . Even a 16 hp is over .
