Whipper made all the upgraded axles in my machines. They have bigger outboard bearings. I had to drill new holes in the frame to accommodate the bigger flanges. He turned down the ends of the axles that are inside the machine so that they could fit inside the stock inboard bearings.

Some guys have used Max or Argo axles. Probably had to some machining to make them work.

Are they custom axles or stock from another machine and then what bearings would be my next question?

I have 1 &1/4 inch, splined axles in 3 of my Attexes.

I highly recommend switching out the stock axles.

Super Chief restore

I have a Super Chief I'm starting to rebuild.i am looking for recommendations on upgrades. I have several bent axles. I have been looking at going bigger and possibly splined. Just wondering from people that have done it if it was worth it and where to get parts. Thanks in advance for any help on this.
