Ok now I got it rite whistling
How many of you all use a winch on your 6x6 ?
Plus how often do you use it ??
Would a Portable one be better to pull from the front OR the back popcorn
-
absolutely!! unless your gonna ride it in your yard only!!
-
Oh come on.......... I much preferred the original way this topic was posted. ^-^

iagree I have one and I have used it. It is mounted to the front. I would rather have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. ;)

I bought a winch plate frm Richard and a Warn 1700 from Tractor Supply, great set up at a nice price.
I also bought a rear winch from Richard, I use it to tie rope and chains, I thing he sold me the front and rear
mounts for 150$

I just thought I would post this as I see a lot of machines with and also without them.
-
I have one but the swamp fox came with one from factory. the mount has very little support and I bent bracket and pulled out the bottom tub about 1 inch from the top side where it connects together. I will modify somehow.
-
My Idea is to make a strong Hook up point on the front and have a Portable winch .
I have one that I use on my trailer and it will fit anything .
-
Does the max have a frame that supports the front up high?
-
Not really . But I can put supports inside at this point. Most all I see are just tied into the upper body at the belt line.
Thy seam to hold up But ??
This is one reason I didn't want to mount a Permanent winch on the front. Plus I ride in all types of terrain and don't always need it .

It is like this one.
-
you could put it anywhere

I think I have one in the box at the barn. I’ll check Monday, I’ll bring it also when I pick up the motor

I love having a winch on mine. I also have a portable winch that I can attach to my hitch in the back if I ever need it. I used my winch when I first got Toad. She lost power due to that bent pushrod and was stuck. The winch really got me out of that pickle. So yes, a winch is always a wonderful idea. Something you never think about until you need it, then you are absolutely grateful. I mounted the switch on my dash. Looks sleek. banana

You can see the front winch in the pics of Toad. But I will get close ups Sunday. I think my back winch is up at the lake too for pics. I’ll do my best popcorn
-
I forgot to add, my front winch is powered. My rear detachable winch is hand crank. I’ve used it and ya geared to turn by hand crank pretty easily. Works great. In the mean time I’ll work on pics!

My dad bought me a wireless winch for Max as a gift. I just got my plate from Richard. I intend to mount the winch next weekend. Should be glorious!

Wireless Winch? Now thats high tech stuff right there! dance
