I think the BH trannies did run with #40 chain. The T-20s ran with #50 chain.

I think it was mid-1971 That they made the switch and built the ST295 and ST400 with six #50 chains. When the new model line came out in 1972 they changed to four #50 chains.

I went to the download section and found two downloads for the attex, a pre and post 1970. I read through both manuals and that was where I found a difference between the Baker Hill transmission and the T20 transmission. I'm assuming that would be the big difference between pre and post 1970. Unfortunately neither manual went into detail with regarding the steering and braking when it came to the calipers and rotors.

Maybe I can answer my own question.  Still learning all of this.  Baker Hill transmission vs. T-20.  Is that the dead giveaway?  If I have a Baker Hill that means it must be PRE 1970 right?  Any body have anything on the adjustment process for the calipers with regards to steering and braking?  I looked through the downloadable manual and did not get much from it.

How do I know if I have a Pre or Post 1970?  I am finally getting my machine up and running.  I was actually able to drive it around the yard for about 30 minutes yesterday.  I know I have caliper issues.  Hopefully it is just adjustment issues.  Thanks.
