Yes Dave ,that .043 is the distance from the top of the pin to the face that the washer will sit on.
That is the thickness of 2 thrust washers. I've done several cases this way. I'll post the video here. and you can use
it for a reference. Don't forget to make a little ring for assembly of the pins so they are the right height when you press them in.

Ok this ? Is for Whipper. I've just watched a video on YouTube that showed you taking .043 thou off the old style drums to accept the fiber washers. Has this measurement been good for more than 1 set?? I have no late model drums to compare with. I know this trans has been apart and toyed with years ago because it had 1 homemade steel washer where it shoulda been fiber and there was only 6 fiber washers on the planetary son the plate side only I think to compensate for the wear that they had cut into the drums. Which I want to turn off in the lathe.
