This video is probably 8 years old, but it seems like yesterday. One of my favorites because of the song. HAHA

George & George SR took a road trip to Tour the USA years back and decided to come to Phoenix, too. Since it was too hot in the Valley, we took them up to Munds Park, AZ where it was much cooler. It's not a desert video, but it was someplace to ride. And it's not mud, but it's the best Arizona's got.  hilarious

Enjoy

Here's #2 of our ride that day. Where we rode is usually underwater, but the lake was way down. I had a standoff on the trail with a burro. The Model Citizen won.  ;D And Godzilla got his feet wet.

This is the 1st of 3 videos of our first desert ride with our grandson in Dec 2011. We'd taken him for rides on the street in front of our house, but never in the desert. He wasn't real crazy about the revving  of the motor, but he got used to it real quick. Actually, it was the first time our oldest son, his dad, drove Godzilla, too. Whipper had to ride with me. The only time he touched the sticks was loading & unloading the machines on the trailer.

Here's #2. Found a way to get down to a small wash. Everything in the desert has thorns on it & as our grandson said "Whoa..Grandma took us to some crazy places".   hilarious At some point he was actually laying down on the seat. Hey, it's part of riding in the desert  ;D AND having us for grandparents.  hilarious

Whipper has this thing about googling new trails.  ::) This is the trail ride we refer to as The Gumby Trail. Well it looked like that from the aerial shot. Looked civilized from that aerial shot, too, till you got there,  started riding it, & got committed to riding it out. Went thru this just to get to the wash. These should get us to the point that I will be able to start posting the April 2013 Arizona Ride videos soon & there are PLENTY of those.  banana rofl. New videos might take a while. Had 3 different cameras mounted to the machines. The working Flip camera we have was rearview mounted to Godzilla & still takes real nice videos. Wish we could find more. The GoPro was mounted on Godzilla facing ahead. We mounted the newer Park Play facing forward on my machine. Found it takes decent videos (though I should have brushed dust off it more) & it records in 3 minute intervals. That can be nice when you don't want to edit a long video. Swore it was on when we took off to the lake to fish, but it was never on. It did record on the way back, but it picks up NO outside noises. NONE. Since the camera is in an enclosed case, (sold as an underwater camera) it takes a beating & picks up horrible sounds when riding over the rocks. You know what that means? More Music.  hilarious.

Take your time with the videos.

I have a GoPro but, for some reason that I haven't figured out yet, the video plays fine on the camera, but when I put it on the computer the audio seems to work fine but the video itself is all jumpy, hesitates and skips.  When I figure out the issue then I will make and post some videos.  Until then it is just pictures.

gopros are funny about the mounting you use. must be on a solid mount. hard to find a good area on a plastic body even with a roll bar still seems to shake. their is a video anti shake mount you can buy but their expensive. I think the better way to go is a head mount seems to take away the issue. when I use the head band mount I try and keep from making any quick head turns makes the vid look smoother.

I think my problem is in the transfer of the video.  When I play it on the camera it plays and looks fine.  After I transfer it from the card to the computer then it doesn't play properly.  It plays on the computer like a series of short 5 second videos with the picture pausing between them but the audio plays properly the entire time.  I think it has to do with the software.

I've mounted it on the roll bar with a clamp mount, on my chest with a chest mount and tried holding it.  Results were the same.

Whip says to try a new memory card. You can upgrade to an even bigger one, but that might be what you want to check out first. Maybe the card is just messed up.

That is worth a try.  I hadn't thought about that.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Just like these machines..process of elimination. If the card is the problem, it is the cheapest route to find that out without pulling your hair out.  :o

And if not then I still have another card, win - win.   :)

No. I remove the card from the camera and put it in the computer.

It sounds like a problem with the PC to me. The PC may not have enough RAM to keep up with the files. How old is it? Make sure you turn off all unneeded programs (browsers, editing software...). Also, drag the files off the card and on to the hard drive (don't run the files directly from the card). There are different USB slots. Sometimes the older ones can't transfer files fast enough to stream the video properly.

I'd try running the card/files on a different PC and see if the results change. Then you'd have a better idea if it's the card or not.

George, I think you are correct.  I can watch the videos from the card on my computer and they play fine.  When I drag and drop them to the computer and then play them is where the issues are.  Most of the video plays fine but at certain points throughout it is as if the video portion is a bunch of still pictures and sometimes it is pixelated, the audio is fine.  My computer is 5 1/2 years old.  When I get a new one I will make sure it is good to go for video transfers.

Thanks everyone for all the help. :)

I'm still working on the next one. I was really impressed with Whip. I asked him to look in his rear view mirror once in a while to make sure I was still in view. (he has a tendency to not).  hilarious Camera doesn't lie. He was checking.  hilarious  :-*.

Well, that couldn't have been this weekend. Whip tells me it was in the 30s (about 20 degrees colder than NY).  ;D ;D ;D

Good to see you behind the sticks again Bridget!

Ya, it was a bit nipply THIS past weekend.  ::)  No, George, it was Feb 10th when we went out for a little bit. Like I said, if I can get in it, I can drive it, but I told Whip that I just don't have the stamina like he does anymore.  :( Look at how long it's taking me to get the next video up.  hilarious

From 2046 miles away thanks for the videos it’s nice to see different looks across the country.  I’m only going to assume no fish cove, there’s no  fish.

Thanks Delduck.  :)
I have no idea if that cove has a name, but I have this thing about putting my own names to people, places & things.  hilarious Yes, there were NO FISH. Not even a nibble. So I named the cove how I thought I would remember it.

That is priceless rofl.  What name do we give to someone who has spent more money and time fixing a max then running it. 1 1/2 tank of fuel per breakdown rofl. I know what I call that but I can’t type it or I may be removed from the site or get a notch on the karma.

Well, I think for right now, we'll call him Bad Luck Delduck. These things can be money pits. We see what you're up against. It's still a pretty amazing machine considering what you do with it, but maybe these guys can help you get it to where it will hold up with less breakdowns. I think it can be done.

What a morning! :(
Finally got everything working & the video uploaded. Had lots of footage, but was able to cut it down to about 7 & a half min. This was a very take it easy ride. I felt like we were always riding uphill both ways.  hilarious The coolest part was the fact that we barely were touching the throttle when climbing. It was like going up a hill at idle almost.  Pretty cool. The only footage from the Park Play camera is at the end of the video. It was mounted to my machine. It was a noisemaker, but music covered that up. RIP Tom Petty. :)
