This is pertaining to the Max machine body's and there body's.
What do you clean it with and what do you all use to Shine and bring the color back ? I have a New body but it has been in storage for Years and could use a good Deep cleaning ! So as always I ask you people as your the best go to people banana

i use armor-all but its pricey.. tire wet may be a cheaper option.
-
That's a good idea :D
I was thinking WD-40 to clean and shine but never used it on this type of plastic ?
Thanks for your input James ;)

it works great on yellow and green polly, just a soap n wash first but if its just in storage no need to wash it, just protect
it until you brake it out for use. sun light is the worst enemy in storage. 8)

We use Armor All if we want to get the bodies real spiffy looking.
Jim is so right about the sunlight fading the color. Funny thing is a heat gun can draw the color back to the surface. Go figure. REB181 did a video on his Hustler body using a heat gun showing how the color comes back. Don't know if we can find it, but will try.

Here is the before and after with a heat gun.

How long did it take to do the whole body and what heat setting did you use?
-
It took a long time to do that. Days in fact.
You have to be real careful not to melt the body.
You have to do small areas at a time so you bon’t warp the body.
Move from one side of the car to the other to let the small areas cool down
This is one of those deals where once you start you have to finish it.
I only have one setting on my heat gun. HOT. So you have ro keep your distance from the body.

WOW. this is a poly body correct???

Mine is not sun faded just dull from dust and dirt as it was in a Pool shed for years up in the loft.
I think the WD 40 might do the trick ?
Will have to test a section out ?? popcorn

I know that I saw a thread on the other site about using bedliner on a body.
I believe my fox has been painted with rattle cans. I'm not sure if I want to spend the time to get a show finish. My wife gives me small grief about not using things I buy so I'm all about thrashing and having fun. I have access to some trails at the lake I live on and I can always swim the atv around. Any thoughts on the best/most durable paint?

Norwee : Check out my AMPHICAT build. It is coated with Bed linner inside and out both upper and lower.
LOVE IT !!!
-
is the build on 6by6 world?
do you mention how you prepped the body.
I bought 2 kits for use on my boat and jet skis
The boat we used foam rollers and it came out great. I know that sounds crazy but it was just the finish I wanted and we put in the nonskid particles to use on the areas we walk on. My comment again I want to use things not keep them in the hangar.

I had it done at a shop. Much Thicker and better layout
-
OK so I am to the point where I want to clean the upper body. And after it has sat for Years it is a little dull and some light stain's on t. I tried some things so far at the shop but no good deep cleaning ?
What have you all used to clean this type of body to bring the color and shine back out ?
It is Not faded ! Just dirty and dull .
