Thanks wedge. I couldn’t find that pet on 6x6 parts. I think I will just end up doing a header wrap then using a high temp silicon like you suggested to seal it.

Yes it is a Fiber type plate the wont transfer heat or burn. You can get them form 6x6 parts . Or use a Header wrap type anf red High temp silicone . It sandwiches between the outer and inner tin plate with the tub in the middle.

Anyone know if there’s is a gasket or what material they put around the muffler at the body of the machine to seal it from the outside elements?

I have a Muffler that I bought for my Max that I think will work inside with very little work.
I was going to use it But Repowered my machine with a bigger engine so if anyone would like to change there exhaust over let me know as I will sell it for what I have in it. In the pic is sitting just up a bit as I didn't remove the mounting bolt to mount it. All you really need to do is make a Tail pipe for it to exit the Lower OR upper body. I also have New Gaskets for it.
If interested PM me.

that would be great. the exhaust is the only thing that I did not replace when I did a frame out in 2015 . the stock exhaust is basically a open header, the guts are gone from the inside. very loud and needs to be changed.

I found  Place that sell's a Muffler Just like that and it is for the Briggs engine. I have one here and was going to fit it into my max 2.
I will mock it up and post it so to help others with the change over.
I can get a good deal on them also through My shop so if it turns out good I will help others out !

Thanks for posting the pic. I’m not good at that stuff. The muffler is a Honda I believe off of a Gx620 18 HP. I purchase the bent tubing from Colombia River Manderel bending. The bell joint is made by flairing one end of pipe with large steel ball. Springs are snowmobile exhaust springs. Heat shield at seat back and above muffler are a must.
