Tuff to compete against 30 to 50 Quads ! Just saying from a Promotors point of view ?

I wish that's all there was we are usually running with 150 to 200 at one day events weekend events are even larger last year at pine we had 389 entries including our 10 6 wheelers I will say new east extreme went through some tough times this year there was alot more going on behind the scenes that only a few of us know about unfortunately the 6 wheelers paid the price at one event and everyone paid for it at the last event hopefully the changes we are making are for the better and 2018 will be an awesome season

Just wanted to say Thank you to all who responded looks like this might be a good start to the next season sorry Don it looks like Geneva is back on the schedule for 2018 BUT. Shawn has already had a few talks with the track owner and he said there will be more talks before that race is set.

With the new world of side by side's coming of age, four wheelers are soon to be a vintage sport also.
six and three wheeler parts are more and more becoming obsolete.
i think its great that we all kinda rolled into one. Yes it makes for a long day and no one wants to be
cut short. i can see why some only race at pine lake at the 6x6 events only (just more family oriented)
less going on in general.
Its great to be behind the sticks again, the three and four wheeler crowd luv us like any good side show.  banana
never missed an event back in NATVA days. well before birth & kinda pulled out before the mckay's and tru-way but thats about all that was left.
I could not even imagine racing again until i heard about the reunion. now I'm hooked again rofl

10-12 guys show. A handful have 2-3 machines.

The biggest class has about 7-8 cars running
The smallest, three cars.

Good question.

The point of the alternating 6 wheel, 3 wheel races was to allow time for those racing in different classes with different machines time to stage.

Dave, that all sounds great to me.

I think I was more bothered by waiting around all day and night for the mains when I could have left at a decent hour. Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to get on the track for the mains but the wasted time bothered me more than losing the 2nd (3rd if you count practice) opportunity to race.

It seems like the way to go. No sandbagging. No wondering if your machine can run more than one race in its class. I like!

But if I get screwed again, I will not race in an NEEDT event again.

Keep in mind that some race more than one class with the same machine or the same person runs different classes with different machines.

Whip & I gotta give you guys credit for your work trying to keep racing alive for the 6 wheelers. In the old days, the classes alternated between a 6 wheel class then a 3 wheel class, 6 wheel, 3 wheel... Now the quads have just overwhelmed time on the track leaving little room or time for the 6 wheel classes. Hate to see you guys get put on the back burner. So you have a decision to make. Will one good main race on a track make you happy or no race time on a track, ANY track? When you don't have many entrants for a class there is no need for a heat race really, is there? And each class should be entitled to race their class as a main at least. If something breaks, you learned a lesson early. Oh well... How many classes do 6 wheelers have now? If there are classes that don't have more than say 4 at least, then decide what class those without a full class can agree to run in maybe. Seems like the 6 wheelers don't consume a lot of the track time. In fact very little of the track time. Racing on a track is just as important to the quads as the 6 wheel guys if they have no place else to open up & test their skills. Just wish one didn't take precedent over the other which is what it appears has been happening. If the track won't accommodate for all, they won't. Then racers will have to decide if the costs, time consumed & possible disappointment is worth it. And don't say that it is great to see so many of my friends. Of course it is, but you got together to race, didn't you? When/if you get so many participants that you need 2 or 3 heats to narrow the field for a main, then you'll have a whole new conundrum, but those days are probably gone. Do mains only for a while & if you still get jacked around, it's not your fault. You did your best.  ;)

I would say these changes are in the right direction.  As the New East Extreme gets bigger you may find more and more issues like you had this year.  It's better to get as many mains done as early as possible so you don't get bumped like this year.  Changing things around won't make everyone happy but if you don't you risk losing the privilege of racing in the series.  The other issue is how do you get more people interested in 6x6's and 6x6 racing.  That will be the hardest since there are no manufactures making new 6x6 racing AATV's today.
