I've been shopping for a new wheelchair recently and have been really looking and a chair called the bounder. It seems like the bee's knees as far as a chair that can go off road as well as it can do on hard surfaces. Anyways they offer a chain drive and something they call the panther belt drive. They say it's the same as the belt driven motorcycles and alot quieter than the chains. That got me to thinking if would be worthwhile to try it on a aatv? Like if someone had one just exclusively for hunting? I'm not going to try it at least not anytime soon but it just got me thinking about it. Would there be enough room for the belts? Especially on the tripple sprocket? Would the belts hold up? I think they should but I don't know for sure, motorcycles are putting alot more power through one belt though. Would water cause excess slippage or are the cogs enough to prevent it? Alot of what ifs in my mind on this. It seems belts may be slightly more forgiving to something possibly getting caught in them, or maybe just a real expensive repair replacing a big belt. Has anyone else put any thought into a motorcycle type belts instead of all chains? Pros cons? Wouldn't mind hearing others thoughts on this.
