Thanks for getting that 2 stroke race up so fast, Joe. Now I can see the changes that were made to the track & ya know, I like them!  ;D. Was that Jim that rode up the dirt & rolled? Did he break a chain or something?

That was Jim G.  They got him started and he was able to leave under his own power and finish his lap.  It just took a lap or two.  I think he could have caught a washout or something, tight turn and lots of speed.  It looked like he could have entered the corner low and tight and tried to rotate it but had too much speed.

Great videos, Joe; thanks for putting them up. What a great weekend! The weather was near perfect and the people that run the track and attend the races are the best. The only thing missing was the team from out west! (I know, I know)...

Hey Don, was that you that hit the joker lap mud hole hard, machine airborn and "belly flopped" it into the middle of it?  It was a sight to see the big splash especially when the hole was full of water.

Yes, I was one of them anyway. I figure the more time you're in the air, the less time you have to flounder in the water.

I saw that coming around the corner a few machines back, thanks for clearing out the water for the rest of us!

From the aerial pics George posted, I'm guessing that the mud hole is an alternate optional way to go in that part of the track?

The alternate, longer mud pit route was added for a joker lap.  Everyone had to do the joker lap 1 time in a race (except springers, they didn't do it).

Oh, that's something different.  I know a few springers that would have taken that hole if they were there & had to & they aren't all out West.  ;) ;D

The springers are the only ones that did not hit the water hole they had enough problems with the wet track. We watered and Springer was race # 2 they was slipping an slosing all over the place.

Great video Joe.
I got to Pine Lake late on Sunday about 8pm spent some time with Bud F. and Jim by the campfire. Wish my schedule would have work out this last weekend. To see you all.
So how was it to race on the new track?

Just a suggestion...doesn't matter whether you're racing or out in the middle of nowhere, it might be in your best interest to have fire extinguishers. We have small ones in ALL of our machines. They mount easy & don't take up much room. Back in the day, seems the spotters in different turns on the track always had one handy. Just something to think about if anything unexpected happens. It's just something people forget to put on their checklist.  ;) Stay safe.

That is not a bad idea M.C.  You never know when you might need one.

Yes, absolutely. We have small extinguishers in each of the race machines but up to this point never kept them in the trail riders. I figured that no one gets as silly on the trails as they do on the track, but after some of the stories that came back from the woods of Pine Lake last weekend, I think we'll be installing them in all the machines.

ascaw, do you own the Max II with the #60 chain?

No. I have the red Max II with a winch and factory roll bar, it's pretty much a stock machine.  I think you may be referring to Mike, Shanna's boyfriend.  He has #60 chain in his and he has also changed the gear ratio a bit.  He has a big motor in it also, probably 50 HP.  He has done a lot in the way of beefing it up as he said he doesn't like things to break and he likes to beat on it.

My old Max 2 Had #60 Main and #50 Final Chain in it Stock. But the 60 chain all the way through the machine would be a nice upgrade !

It was 5 laps so your expenditures would put it at $1500 per lap.  They also had the last race that everyone could run at the same time - no classes.  That was another 5 laps so that puts your cost per lap at $750.  whistling  popcorn

Told my Grandson I won a piston cup. Showed him my  Piston trophy and Cup trophy.   " Oh Papa thats not a piston Piston Cup trophy."  Kids today can't fool them.  Any way had a nice time at the awards banquet. The roast beef was actually very good and served hot.  Real thick piece of Beef, not deli slices. Started late and ran late just like the races.
