I am starting to collect parts where is a good place to look for the sprocket hubs? If I understand correctly from reading about the update I need the max ll bearings?

I used that jig on 3 separate occasions.

I can loan you the Jig after I get it back. I would like to check it out and make sure it is OK.
You should be able to get 6 new axles from Richard right here on Route 6x6.
If you modify the inside of the axles you can still run the same inner bearings.
Switch all sprockets to #50 chain and make sure sprockets are flame hardend.

I definitely want to do the upgrade. I'm a mechanic by trade so I think the work would be fun. Will I need to have custom axles made or can I use axles from another machine and modify them?

Your on the right track.
I have some pics in my gallery that show the Jig used to drill the frame
for the 62mm bearings.
I think George has the best video out there on how to do it.
You might want to check these all out before you decide to do it.
It is a lot of work, but a great upgrade.
George located the jig, it has been floating around the 6x6 community for 10yrs.

kinda like the ULTIMATE BEARING. you can buy a quality bearing and then you can buy the best. priced accordingly

Perhaps he'll answer that. Just keep in mind that they're high quality and are priced accordingly.

When I bought mine, I also bought 8 sprockets, 2 disks (for the brakes), and 6 Delran spacers. You'll also need to buy 6 62mm bearings and flanges to go with them, and all the hardware to hold it all to the frame.

My solid axle kits also came with wheel hubs on the end.

All those goodies add up, but you'll end up with a drive-line as good as any 6x6 or 8x8 made today (even better in some cases).
