i have what i think is an 70s attex 295 i cant get the axels out. i took out the bolt i thought was holding them in now it just spins in the gear sleave??? any help is welcomed

They almost never come out easy.

Many times I've had to cut off the outer bearing and flange so I could remove an axle by pulling it into the tub. After it's removed, you can then use a torch to heat up the axle tube and try pressing it out.

Sometimes I've just replaced the whole unit because it was cheaper and faster to do so.

Check out the HOW TO Forum. There are pics & explanations in the Axle Bearing Replacement & Locking Collar thread. Axles can be buggers to get out, especially when rusty. They do come out ...eventually.

What are you trying to do, replace the axle or the bearing?
You may not be able to get the axle out if it’s been rusted in the bearing for 40 yrs.
If your replacing both axle and bearing just use a saws-all and cut it out.
Did you unlock bearing collar?
Make a slide hammer or Saws-all
