Hello, I found this site and joined.  I love forums of like minded folks.  I want to refurbish a 6x6 this upcoming winter season.  I have a 52' boat with a large swim platform and a 1000 pound davit.  I want to find a light weight 6x6 that I can lower into the water from my boat in Catalina Island, go a couple hundred yards in the water, and drive up onto the beach at my yacht clubs cove.  I am very handy and have restored cars before (pulled engines, stripped down to metal, HVLP sprayed....) and am not shy about a project.  But what type of 6x6 should i be looking at (considering weight), and how do i find a chassis?
