That's good info to know snaps.  Looking at the break, it looks like it was cracked for a long time before it failed.  Tell your daughter she is not breaking the Max, she is finding the weak spots for you.  banana

That’s exactly what I told her. And...we get headers now!!!

That looks great, but be careful with the header wrap!!!!  One wrap only and make sure ou leave some metal. My daughter was driving the other day and came home crying. Said there was an explosion and she was sorry she broke the Max again, but it was really loud and she drove it home really slow. Walked out to find this.

Asked my mechanic and he said he had that happen to one of his stock cars when he used to race. Said the two wraps (each overlapping halfway, so really 4 layers), held in so much heat it fatigued the metal and the back pressure just blew the pipe apart!!!

It’s in having headers made for it now. Bigger, more appropriate ones.

I finally found minimal time yesterday to finish my muffler, Not the prettiest install but it seems to work great and my engine cover fits perfect over the muffler, I still need to finish the header wrap. sound good also (thanks wedge)

Hi All
I installed an internal muffler and need to run the exhaust out the back. I am looking for advice or pictures to what might work best for me, 2000 max II. Thanks
