I have lived in  NW Ohio Before, 1994 to 2000 I was in Maumee, next to Toledo, then from 2007- 2008 in Delta on the other side of Toledo, If I end up in that area again we will hook up for sure. if I end up in VA I will be a couple hrs from Wedge, either way I feel I have made some good friends here and am looking to meeting you guys for 6 wheeling fun and some beverages whistling

Good luck on the sale, hope you can sell quick.  I am in NE Ohio.  Lots of snow here but not as bad as where you are.  Hope to see you in Ashtabula soon.

Ascaw
thanks for the Advice, no way to dig everything up now, I have a whole house gen sitting on top of where the I would have to dig up next to the house, I will just install a cap on the end of the pipe to at least slow the water down for next year.
I AM SELLING, it will be listed in a about 6 weeks when I get home, Wife cant deal with all the snow by herself anymore, we are going to North west Ohio or Charlottesville VA Area, thanks for your advice.....

On the bright side if I move to NW Ohio I can go to Ashtubala easy........

never heard of a check valve for 4 inch black corrugated slotted drain pipe, that is a great idea. if nothing else it should help prevent the massive water coming in and only allow what gets through the slots. Thanks for the info.

I did not know it was corrugated and slotted.  I was thinking of a solid drain pipe.  Check valves are made in all kinds of sizes.  You may have to put in some solid pipe and tie it to the corrugated.  You will want to put the check valve as close to the house as possible to help eliminate as much back flowing water as possible from the slots.  Being only 40 feet you may want to replce the entire thing and add a check valve at the best possible location for your area.  The other option you have is to sell it and move south.  popcorn

Good to hear.  Flooded basements are never a good thing.  You may want to consider a check valve for the drain tile to prevent water from backing up into the basement from the lake.

well I left Tuesday to go back to Africa to work, Landed Wed afternoon and Thursday afternoon i was back on a plane to go home as rain and the snow still on the ground along with 65 degree weather is causing flooding issues at my house. I am in Doha waiting for my flight to Boston then Northern Maine.  My sump pump has now been running non stop for almost 48 hrs or a little longer, and it is now making loud noises. I wife knew enough to put a fan on it from the beginning, it is a Wayne pedestal pump. I am suspecting the bearings are getting hot and going. I get home Sat at 6pm and i hope it hangs on until then, I do have a back up and over flow basin just incase the primary one quits, plus more rain tonight and heavy all day monday....

this sucks as I am loosing a boat load of $$ not to mention my plane tickets I have to buy.....errrr. never again will I build a house 40 feet from the water. the drain tile drains into the lake and is also connected to my sump pit to prevent hyr pressure under the basement, well when the flood season comes and is bad like this year the lake comes into my sump and all I can do is pump until the lake subsides, this is the 2nd time it has done this. last time was 4 years ago and my pump ran 36 hrs straight, that time I landed in Boston got a call from the wife and rented a car and drove home. I figure I am pumping about 4200 GPH... well enough ranting.....
